How to Create Outlook Templates
Use e-mail templates to send messages that include information that doesn't
change from message to message. You can compose and save a message as a
template, and then use that template every time you need it. Just add any new
information before sending the template as an e-mail message.
- On the File menu, point to New, and then click Mail Message.
- The New button on the Standard Toolbar and the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+N will also open the new e-mail message window.
- In the message body, type the text that you want.
- In the message window, click the Office Button menu, click Save As.
- In the Save As dialog box, in the Save as type list, click Outlook Template (*.oft).
- In the File name box, type a name for your template, and then click Save
- Close your email message without saving to Draft folder.
How to Use your Outlook Template
To compose a message using an Email template follow these steps:
- In the Inbox window, click Tools, point to Forms, and then click Choose Form...
- Under Look In, select User Templates in the File System.
- Double click the desired message template.
- Address, adapt and send your modified email template.
